나는 주로 음악을 들으면서 작업하는데
특히 2NE1의 「내가 제일 잘나가」를 듣다 보면
마치 최면에 걸린 것처럼 용기와 자신감이 샘솟는다.
거기서 영감을 받아 이 작품을 작업했다.
한복을 입은 채 보드를 한쪽으로 들고 위풍당당하게 서 있는 여인.
어울리지 않는 복장을 하고 있지만,
남의 시선을 신경 쓰지 않고 당당하기만 하다.
오늘도 ‘내가 제일 잘나가’라는 자기최면을 건다.
Story of Coy
Story of Coy shows informal everyday life with figures wearing Hanbok, which is Korean traditional clothes, based on the elegant and secret characteristic of Hanbok.
I draw the figure in the nude at first, and go through the step of dressing the figure in Hanbok.
This Hanbok is translucent to deliver the message that ‘one can see what is underneath the dress’.
I dye thin Hanji, which is traditional Korean paper, in person to express Hanbok in a translucent way, and to make a collage.
